Letter to Community regarding COVID-19 Case

My beloved parishioners:

Immaculate Heart of Mary Church has been working diligently to safeguard the well-being of our community at a time when COVID-19 is threatening public health. We were informed that an individual from our church has tested positive for COVID-19. Symptoms began sometime during the week of March 22. To the best of our knowledge, this individual was last present on our church property on March 15.

We are grateful to the family for alerting us and although there are many places people could have been exposed, in an abundance of caution, we wanted to make sure you have this information as soon as possible. We currently have no confirmation of a risk of infection at our location, but we are taking precautionary measures as part of our ongoing efforts to ensure the wellbeing of our entire faith community. The health and safety of everyone who is a part of our community is of great importance to us. We understand that this matter was reported in accordance with law to the LA County Department of Public Health. We have been in communication with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, who has maintained regular communications with the Public Health Department to ensure that we are taking all the appropriate steps to address this situation.

Mis queridos feligreses:

La Iglesia Inmaculada Corazón de María ha estado trabajando diligentemente para salvaguardar el bienestar de nuestra comunidad en un momento en que COVID-19 amenaza la salud pública. Nos informaron que un individuo de nuestra iglesia dio positivo por COVID-19. Los síntomas comenzaron en algún momento durante la semana del 22 de marzo. Hasta donde sabemos, esta persona estuvo presente por última vez en la propiedad de nuestra iglesia el 15 de marzo.

Estamos agradecidos con la familia por alertarnos y, aunque hay muchos lugares donde las personas podrían haber estado expuestas, con mucha precaución, queríamos asegurarnos de que tenga esta información lo antes posible. Actualmente no tenemos confirmación de un riesgo de infección en
nuestra ubicación, pero estamos tomando medidas de precaución como parte de nuestros esfuerzos continuos para garantizar el bienestar de toda nuestra comunidad de fe. La salud y la seguridad de todos los que forman parte de nuestra comunidad es de gran importancia para nosotros.

Entendemos que este asunto se informó de conformidad con la ley al Departamento de Salud Pública del Condado de Los Ángeles. Nos hemos comunicado con la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles, que ha mantenido
